Students often check out books from our classroom library and forget to return them. These book check-out sheets or logs provide a simple system that can be easily managed by one of your student leaders, helping to hold students accountable.
To make it easy for students to sign books in and out, attach the sheet to a clipboard with a command hook on your library shelves, and secure a pen with string to the clipboard. Alternatively, you can place the sign-in/out sheet on a table near the classroom library. Consider copying the sheets back-to-back to save paper, and once a sheet is filled, you can file or discard it.
