Are you tired of all the tattling?? Do you find that the kids are constantly coming to you for all kinds of pesky little problems? Well I have a solution for you. Problem Solver Cards. This product has 18 cards that help kids gain independence in solving their own problems. Every day I choose one student to be the problem solver. That student is responsible for solving all those pesky little issues that come up a hundred times a day. “He cut me in line, “He took my crayon”, “She rolled her eyes at me”, “He knocked my blocks” “She’s bothering me” and on and on and on it goes. If a student comes to me with a problem I immediately say “Go talk to the problem solver.” Both parties get a chance to tell their side of the story to the problem solver. The problem solver uses the cards to help determine a response. At times, it’s like watching a scene from a court drama.

In my classroom, I realize that one of our highest priorities is understanding and applying problem solving skills. This tool is wonderful to use at the beginning of a school year as I introduce classroom management techniques. It is simple and easy to follow. I highly recommend this tool in early elementary classrooms.
My students loved using this resource for their morning work! They were engaged in the resource and had no trouble getting started. It didn't take much time to prepare this resource, so it was easy for me to use in a time crunch. I adapted it a little bit for my emerging bilingual students and had them skip some of the more challenging questions.
Great resource for assistance with teaching students how to solve their interaction problems on their own!
This went along great to supplement an SEL lesson.
A job in the classroom is being the problem solver each week. The children really enjoy using these cards to assist them do their job. They have a lot of pride in this job.
My students loved this game. We use it for exit tickets, morning work and practice.
Such a great way to get students to talk about how to solve problems. Easy prompts.
Great resource to help students learn how to problem solve.
