Description
Create a safe and special place in your classroom where children can go to identify their feelings and learn respectful coping techniques with the help of this hands on visual aid!
Included are 4 main pages that fit perfectly into 8x10 picture frames to protect them from dirty or teary fingers (or simply laminate them for durability) and 2 pages of manipulatives for children to interchange between the "I am Feeling" page and the "I Choose to Handle it By" page.
Children simply choose the emotion they are feeling and place the face on the "I Am Feeling" head, and then choose a coping technique and place it on the "I Choose to Handle it By" hand!
Great way to encourage children to explore their emotions and a fantastic way to lovingly encourage children experiencing emotional outbursts (anger, frustrations, sadness, etc) to take a break in a safe corner of your classroom and calm down and reflect.
In our safe place we have a comfy chair, the above printables mounted at eye level of the children, a teddy bear, a little book basket filled with books that discuss various emotions, and a mirror because some children do really well with seeing themselves go through the emotion.
This product is especially beneficial in special needs classrooms and very relevant to children with emotional developmental delays.
