Description

Worried about the new content of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum 2020 - Grade 7? No need, I have created a comprehensive coding project that covers some expectations in the Financial Literacy and Algebra - Coding Skills strands for Grade 7 Mathematics!! Perfect for classroom and online distance learning use.

This project guides students using published Google Slides tutorials on how to create their own APP to convert foreign currency using Code.org App Lab! Tutorials are designed to start with very detailed, step-by-step instructions to help with the first set of requirements, then gradually release responsibility for students to apply their learning and work more independently.

CLICK HERE TO SEE A SAMPLE OF THE TUTORIALS

No Google Accounts needed to run the slideshow tutorial, they are published to the web and only need a internet browser!

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED for either teacher or student! However, Code.org offers many good introductory coding tutorials you may find beneficial for your students.

Included in this zip file download are:

  • Currency Conversion App Project file PDF (Complete document). Every part of the printable resource in one pdf file
  • Individual pdf files with the student documents (from the complete project document) broken into their own pdf files to facilitate online distance learning for teachers (assign individual portions without having to figure out how to separate one huge pdf file).

  2. App Requirements documents 1, 2 and 3 (each separate)
  3. Code Planning Sheets (blank for student use)
