Description

Engaging activities for hands-on life skills & job skills that can be done on the board for a group lesson, or independent task box for special education! Learn basic vocational skills like assembling drink orders and customer service before going to an off-campus job, or an age-appropriate way to practice skills that you would need on a CBI community outing.

This activity comes with:

  • Coffee & tea supply Printables
  • Differentiated menus with and without prices
  • Small & large size cups/lids
  • 2 levels of task cards
  • 42 visual order task cards
  • 42 order task cards for higher level
  • 1 blank set of order task cards
  • 6 Customer Order Header Labels
  • Script for barista and customer.
  • 3 "COFFEE SHOP" banners
  • Table of contents for easy printing (see preview)

This resource requires printing, laminating, cutting & velcro (or magnet/thumbtacks depending on how you choose to use these activities), but once prepped, I promise they will be engaging activities you can use all year, and year after year!

ACTIVITIES:

  • sort the supplies onto the coffee organizers
  • counting supply inventory (determine how many needed to fill organizer)
  • using a task card orders or the "customer #" header, the student will assemble the correct order(s).
  • take this activity to the next level by having students simulate a coffee shop with a barista & customer - use scripts.
  • practice handling money (paying or receiving) counting, adding, making change.
  • & more listed in this activity
