Print and cut apart twelve cards for a versatile resource for your classroom.
♥ Students can mix and match shapes.
♥ Use the cards to answer questions posed to your class: "Who has a card with a shape that has four sides?" "Who has a card with a shape that has four equal sides?" "Who has a card with a shape with three sides?" "Who has a shape with four vertices/corners?"
♥ Ask a team of capable students to create and then ask the questions.
♥ Assess student understanding with a minimum of reading and writing. Display an image of a shape and state a name or an attribute (sides, vertices, corners, etc.) for the shape. Have students signal thumbs-up or thumbs-down if the image matches the name you've given.
