Description

This is a great experiment for Dr. Seuss Day and pairs nicely with Green Eggs and Ham. In the book, the unnamed character says he does not like green eggs and ham based on the color of the items. But after finally trying them he says he really likes them. This can be a lesson to try new things and not to judge by the color or looks of something.

Could also be used for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To teach diversity.

This experiment can explore mixtures and solutions.
Students judge the colors based on their favorite colors or a color they think would taste the best. they get to taste each color (colors have different taste.... salty, sweet, lemon, orange). Students should come to the conclusion that you shouldn't judge something based on its appearance.

This was a fun way to teach students that you should not always judge a food by how it looks. They learned that trying new things is actually kind of fun, and that it is best to try it before saying you do not like it.
