Description
This is an engaging full lesson for combining like terms (simplifying expressions) that involves candy to help students learn the concept. These 7th grade math resources include a Task/Activity and Guided Notes.
Candy Sort Task/Guided Notes
In this task students use starbursts and skittles to explore the concept of combining like terms. The notes page gives students the opportunity to solidify the concept using algebraic expressions. NOTE: If using prior to learning integer operations, don't use the last page of the notes.
