Description

Based on my first grade classroom, this is the first unit of procedural writing called "How-To Books." This unit includes:

-4 weeks of mini-lessons focused on procedural writing and revising adapted from Lucy Calkins
-Goals for the unit aligned with the Common Core Standards Writing: Listening/Speaking, Research to Build and Present Knowledge, Conventions of Standard English, and Production and Distribution of Writing
-13 teacher created sample charts and tools to use with your students to help them become independent during your Writer's Workshop
-19 pictures of my students' writing samples

I'm a very visual learner and I always find it helpful to see student samples or exemplar charts. I hope my student samples are helpful and you're able to use some as anchor papers as you begin to launch your how-to unit =) This product does not contain any usable materials for students to complete- it is a month long calendar to help teachers guide their writer's workshop instruction.

Sorry the description wasn’t clear enough. Yes, it’s just a PDF with the mini lessons as stated and student samples. No cutesy clip art or anything like that- just an easier way to teach the unit. Thanks for your review.
