This is an excellent product to use as we move towards fully implementing the Common Core Standards. Each page contains one of the eight Standards for Mathematical Practice along with several clarifying questions that students can ask themselves to determine if they are appropriately meeting that standard. By asking themselves these questions, they are learning to make sense of the problem and deepen their understanding. Essentially, they are encouraged to put the meaning back into mathematics and are practicing how to problem-solve and think in more relevant and math-based ways. These Common Core State Standards are new and it is important for teachers to understand what they mean as well. Therefore, this product can also serve as a great tool for teachers to use when evaluating the progress of their students as they work towards demonstrating each standard in given math problems. Each poster is one PDF page. Hang them up in your classroom all at once, or display them one at a time depending on the math problem. Regardless, this is a wonderful tool for teachers and students to use during the Common Core shift.
