Description

What Is Screenwriting?

Screenwriting is a form of storytelling that creates a visual tale for the reader, and if performed, the viewer. Screenplays can be either original pieces of work, or stories taken from other forms of literature. This is commonly to referred to as an adapted screenplay.

Why Every Student Should Be A Screenwriter?

In creating any screenplay, the writer must have a clear understanding of the setting, the characters, and dialogue. This is true for the work in its entirety, and for each individual scene.

When you teach students to adapt novels into screenplays they will think and write visually. They will view their writing holistically; instead of seeing dialogue , characters, and setting as three different elements, students combine these concepts and progress as writers more naturally.

There are many great elements to this. It really helped in breaking down the parts of a script, as well as provided opportunity for practice. It is a bit overpriced for what you get, but works well in the classroom setting.
