This is a laid out approach for calendar math for the entire year. Each component is tied directly to a standard from the fourth grade common core standards. I have listed the standard for each component next to the directions for each component. I have created calendar pieces for each day of each month for August- June. They include a pattern for each month alternating between number patterns and color patterns that are already included in the design of the calendar pieces. I have scaffolded these beginning with the most simple color patterns first moving into more complex number patterns. Also included are matching month names for the calendar pieces. I created the background pieces to place on a bulletin board or whiteboard for your calendar math area. All you will need to add is lamination and some form of place value manipulatives.
