Description

**You can see all of the Community Helper Patterns in much more detail on this blog post
this post.

This Community Helper Pattern set is the perfect thing to help your students make "self portraits" of themselves in their future chosen professions. Each student can make a paper version of themselves (instructions included) and then choose their future profession. While the youngest students can add hats or props made by a teacher, older students should be able to make their own hats, props and even shirts to go with their worker.

Included in this set are 18 patterns for job hats or other props. The jobs included are:

- artist
- construction worker
- police officer
- bus driver
- teacher
- mechanic
- princess
- pirate
- soldier
- surgeon
- nurse
- chef
- librarian
- firefighter
- veterinarian
- cowboy/cowgirl
- astronaut
- football player

All patterns are full-size except for two that need to be enlarged slightly on a copier. Also included are directions and pictures for making the workers, their hats and/or props.

This was a success in every way! The learners could not leave their designated station once the time was up - that is how much pride they took in their beautiful designs and creations! I loved how diverse this package was, the learners had a handful of possibility to choose from! They engaged with this activity on a personal level too, which is always so rewarding and comforting to know.
