This fun unit was created for to focus on community helpers and work on the reading strategy text to world. There are loads of other goodies to work on as well. This unit includes daily lesson plans, posters, parent connect letter, an original strategy song, comprehension strategies, literacy connections, extension activities, sort activities, and crafts. The literature used in this unit is On the Town by Caseley, Officer Buckle & Gloria by Rathman, Fly Guy Presents Fire Fighters by Arnold, Froggy Goes to the Doctor by London, The Little Red Hen by Galdone and recently added Fly Guy Presents Police Officers by Arnold. There are 4 bonus mini digital readers included too that you view on the BOOM learning platform. There is a police officer craft, a fire fighter craft, a farmer craft, a little red hen craft, and a doctor craft. In addition there are suggestions for creating a noun town or building a class community. It is all you will need and more to introduce, cover, and teach this concept.
