Description

This item features task cards that require students to read text and identify photographs of various communities. The definitions of rural, urban, and suburban communities are reinforced through this activity.

SIMPLE PREP: To incorporate this game/activity into your classroom, print each page, laminate and cut out the task cards.

DIRECTIONS: Students should begin by mixing the cards up. Then they will choose a card, read it/observe the picture and then identify the community (urban, rural or suburban). To hold students accountable for their work, they will record their answers on the recording sheet according to the number in the corner of the task card.

OTHER COMPONENTS: Also included are vocabulary posters to review community concepts, as well as a follow up cut and paste worksheet.
