Description

Comparing fractions is a hard concept to teach. Nonetheless, with repetition and different learning techniques your students can achieve this concept. I have included some task cards which are a great resource to have your student do around the classroom to keep them engaged. I tend to place them all around the room and students walk around and answer each one on their one handout.

Includes:

- 16 colorful task cards

- 16 black and white task cards

- student response handout

- answey key

Compare two fractions with the same numerator or the same denominator by reasoning about their size. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
