Description

Help your students truly understand comparing fractions with these engaging comparing fractions Google Slides activities! This interactive resource gives students meaningful practice comparing fractions using visual fraction models, so they can explain and justify their thinking instead of guessing.

Perfect for 3rd grade fractions, this resource includes targeted practice comparing fractions with the same numerator, comparing fractions with the same denominator, and a mixed review section to help students master this important fraction skill.

Students compare fractions using fraction strips, number lines, fraction walls, and circle models, giving them multiple ways to understand which fraction is greater, less than, or equal. These comparing fractions with models activities are ideal for guided practice, independent practice, math centers, or small groups.

This resource includes digital comparing fractions practice that keeps students engaged without worksheets, cutting, or coloring. Students drag and drop answers directly on the slides, making it a low-prep and easy-to-use option for Google Classroom and other online learning platforms.

Promote conceptual understanding

Many students struggle with comparing fractions when they only see numbers. Using visual fraction models helps students make sense of fraction size and relationships. These activities give students repeated exposure to comparing fractions using fraction strips and number lines, which supports deeper understanding and better retention.

Whether you are reviewing before a test or providing extra practice, this resource offers meaningful comparing fractions activities that focus on understanding, not memorization.

TEKS 3.4D - compare two fractions having the same numerator or denominator in problems by reasoning about their sizes and justifying the conclusion using symbols, words, objects, and pictorial models

CCSS 3.NF.A.3D - Compare two fractions with the same numerator or the same denominator by reasoning about their size. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole.
