Description
This 2-player math center allows students to compare 3-digit numbers. It includes print and cut number cards, directions, game boards, and recording sheet.
Players take turns turning over a number card and placing it on their number boards to construct 3-digit numbers. After both players have built their numbers, players then record their numbers on the recording sheet and use comparison symbols to write an accurate comparison statement. The trick? Once a player locks in his/her digit on the game board, it cannot be moved until the round is complete.
For first grade students, the Common Core Standards ask students to compare 2-digit numbers. In this case, have players only use the tens and ones places on the game boards. To enrich those first grade students, use the full game board for 3-digit numbers.
