This activity is used to assess student understanding of ordering and comparing numbers ( 4.NBT.2).

There are several options for using these task cards, but I like to use them in small groups. Students will answer the 28 questions on the score sheet, check their work with a partner, and then evaluate how many colored cupcakes they answered correctly. I have students complete a cupcake card at the end, which is how I can quickly evaluate what types of problems my students still need help with. The directions are included within this packet, as well as an answer sheet for easy grading.
