Special Education Task Box: Comparing Sizes
Big and Little, Large and Small
These comparing sizes task cards can be used to help students make comparisons between 2 objects. They are generic and can be used throughout the school year. These are great to laminate and put on a ring for transitions. Show students a card and have them point to the answer as the transition to do something during the school day like wash hands or line up. You can also use them as a work station or center. Students can clip or cover the correct answer.
What's Included?
- 1 task box cover
- 8 large cards
- 8 small cards
- 8 big cards
- 8 little cards
Total: 32 Task Cards
Why It’s Perfect for Your Classroom:
- Vocabulary Generalization: Helps students understand that "Big" and "Large" carry the same meaning, which is critical for language development.
- Functional Transitions: Keep these on a binder ring. Use them as a ticket to transition to the next activity, show a card, have the student identify the size, and then transition to hand washing or circle time.
- Differentiated Response Modes: Students can point, verbalize, or use clothespins to clip the correct answer, making this accessible for non-speaking students or those working on fine motor strength.
Printing
The task cards print in color only and 2 to a page. Laminate the cards for durability.
