Description

Help your students identify complementary and supplementary angles with this digital angles activity. Students look at angle models with one known angle and one missing angle, and use their knowledge of supplementary angles and complementary angles to subtract and find the missing angle. Students either subtract from 180 (supplementary angles) or subtract from 90 (complementary angles) to find the measure of the missing angle. With colorful angle models and self-checking answer boxes, your students will have fun mastering this complementary and supplementary angles.

You get a self checking Google Sheets activity with 60 questions. Students will look at angle models and type their answers in the yellow boxes. The boxes change green and a checkmark pops up to give IMMEDIATE feedback, so students know right away if they are correct. Incorrect answers will turn gray, prompting students to self correct. This is highly motivating and will help students keep going!

Built-in differentiation: This activity starts east and gets steadily more challenging as students progress through the activity.Ā 

It starts with easy 90 degree angles, then 180 angles, then a mixture of the two. The last 20 questions are challenge questions with extra angles - great for an extension or early finishers.

You can assign the Google Sheets activity as a center or independent work and have ZERO prep! This is a super engaging activity for independent math time, centers, sub plans and more. Even better - project the activity on the board and solve a few as your lesson, then have students try it on their own! This Google Sheets activity works with ANY device that is connected to the internet. It is easy to assign to your students, and even comes with a video tutorial for teachers that will show you how to assign and use it!Ā Ā

Recognize angles as geometric shapes that are formed wherever two rays share a common endpoint, and understand concepts of angle measurement:
An angle is measured with reference to a circle with its center at the common endpoint of the rays, by considering the fraction of the circular arc between the points where the two rays intersect the circle. An angle that turns through 1/360 of a circle is called a ā€œone-degree angle,ā€ and can be used to measure angles.
