Description

This MS PowerPoint (ppt) presentation provides an introduction to complex numbers and also covers the basic operations associated with complex numbers (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing). It includes the detailed steps required to simplify complex number expressions.

It is a total of 23, highly animated slides. The first 10 slides provide a detailed introduction to complex numbers including several real-world applications. The remaining 13 slides provide detailed solution steps for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing complex numbers.

I use this ppt slidepack in my Math 3, Algebra 2 and Precalculus classes for my initial instruction when covering this topic. It is a fully animated presentation and is designed to keep the students alert and focused. I always print out a copy of it for my students to review and take notes on as I go through it. It includes a total of seven (7) example problems involving all 4 basic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) associated with complex numbers. The detailed solution steps for each of the 7 example problems are included in the slidepack. Five (5) additional problems are provided on the last slide for the students to solve on their own. The answers to these problems are also provided but they are "off the slide viewing area" so the students cannot see them on their printed copy. With a click of the mouse, the answers come flying onto the slide from the right side of the viewing area.

Furthermore the native MS PPT file is included in the event the teacher should desire to modify any of the slides to suit their particular classroom situation.

Other products covering numerous 7th & 8th grade math, Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, Math 4, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and PreCalculus curriculum topics can be reviewed and purchased under my TpT page titled: "Priceless Math".
