Description

This pack includes printables for teaching about 2D shapes. These task cards are 4 to a page and range from easy to challenging.

This pack has 44 different task cards for students to use in creating composite shapes with pattern blocks. The task cards are in black in white, but I colored mine in by hand.

Some of the composite task cards included are:

-duck

-bat

-turtle

-fish

-donkey

-lion

-rabbit

-bumble bee

-car

-train

-rocket

-apple

-oranges

-skate boarder

-dancer

AND SO MUCH MORE!!!

This pack also includes a picture mat for students to place their pattern blocks on- the mat is in color and in black and white. Students get SO engaged using these task cards. This activity can be used small group, whole group or as a math center.

Please note that these are task cards which means they are not big enough for students to lay the actual blocks on top of them to build the composite shapes. This is an AMAZING way to get students to practice visualizing and conceptualizing in their heads!

I print the cards on cardstock and laminate for some common core aligned, hands-on learning!! I also laminated the picture mats so students could use dry erase markers to write the number of shapes they used!
