This zip file contains materials for middle school science lessons on compound/complex machines and the legend of Rube Goldberg as part of a unit on simple and compound machines, and energy. The unit was designed for 6th graders in NYC.

Includes:
SMARTboard .notebook presentation (15 slides)
3 homework and/or class activity assignments
1 skeleton outline notes with activities (could be used for differentiation, not directly correlated to .notebook presentations though)

Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson. Presentations include links to related YouTube videos to increase student engagement (I can help you use YouTube videos in your class, even if your network blocks such sites, just ask).
