Description
Do your 7th grade students need more practice solving compound probability and multi-step probability problems? Could you use a calm, relaxing, fun differentiated worksheet activity where students have a mix of independent and partner work? This partner match color by number activity encourages students to find the probability of independent events.
There are two levels of worksheet sets. In the "Compound Probability" set, all problems can be solved by multiplying the probability of independent events. In the "Multi-Step Probability" set, some problems will require students to create a sample space (via list, chart, or tree diagram) in order to solve. You can have all students work on one of the sets or mix & match!
Your students will work in pairs, but each partner will have a different worksheet. Once they each solve the problems, they are to compare their answers. If their answers match, they will use one color on the coloring page, but if their answers do not match, they will use a different color. Six of the eight problems have matching answers and two do not. This encourages students to check each other's work and discuss differences, instead of just blindly changing their own work to match their partner.
