Description
This pack contains 24 task cards that reinforce writing compound sentences. Students use the task cards to practice using conjunctions to make compound sentences. These task cards work well as a supplement to your grammar/ writing lessons and can be used in centers, small groups, or Daily 5.
This File includes:
Pages 1-2: Cover Page and Credit Page
Pages 3-8: 24 task cards*
*Cards 1-12 - Combining simple sentences practice. Students are given 2 simple sentences and 3 possible conjunction choices. Students must choose the appropriate conjunction and use proper punctuation to turn the sentences into a compound sentence.
Conjunctions that are practiced are: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
Cards 13-24 - Rewrite run-ons and simple sentences into compound sentences. Students must show that they know how to fix run-ons by adding a conjunction to create a compound sentence, or turn a simple sentence into a compound sentence. Thank you!
It was a good activity to use during workshop/centers time. I would like more if I could use digitally during distance learning. It would be nice if the task cards would be converted into a Google doc/form/slides to use in Google Classroom.
Easy to pull out and use with my students. Sentences were simple, short, and easy for students to read.
I like task cards that require the students to write instead of pick an answer choice.
great task cards for stations
great for centers
Just as described and easy to use.
Great Resource.
