Description
Does it drive you crazy when a student says, “I’m finished with everything. What do I do now?” Here is the solution … and it is purposeful, standards-based, independent work! Standard practice formats can be the “go-to-activity” when students have finished other assigned work for the day.
English Language Arts Standards are addressed in adopted core programs, however, students need more practice and continuous review throughout the year. Standard Practice is a collection of formats which students can complete independently at their own level and at their own pace. Once students understand teacher expectations for a specific format, the teacher can differentiate the quantity and difficulty to match the needs of students in primary and middle grades.
