Description

As students enter the junior high level, it is necessary for them to develop and mature their writing skills. Teaching them to correctly form sentences using suboordinating and coordinating conjunctions (and punctuating them correctly!) is beneficial to accomplishing this task. Incorporating compound and complex sentences also contributes to sentence fluency in a piece of writing. This product is comprised of seven simple slides teaching the basic structure of compound and complex sentences and lists all subordinating and coordinating conjunctions. The PDF also includes a quiz where students identify all subordinating and coordinating conjunctions and write their own compound and complex sentences. These slides are available in PowerPoint upon purchase/request.

The student will form compound and complex sentences to signal differing relationships among ideas.
