The ‘Reading Comprehension Posters' have been designed to support students’ development in comprehension. They are a simple, ready-to-use tool for English teachers that can be used in a wide range of activities and settings. They have been designed to support visual and tactile learners; they supplement students’ skill development as part of a balanced literacy program. There are 8 Reading Comprehension Posters in total:
- Summarising
- Predicting
- Inferring
- Making Connections
- Analysing
- Critiquing
- Self-Monitoring
- Self-Reflection
Each Reading Comprehension Poster includes a brief definition of the skill and a visual prompt to support students’ understanding; they introduce children to the necessary skills required for critical thinking while reading. You will also receive three versions of the posters (their design is consistent, but the backgrounds have been changed):
- Plain (editable)
- Bricks
- Watercolour Flowers
- Coloured
They are an ideal resource for use during Independent Reading and an excellent resource to send home to support students and parents with distance learning!
PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS
After printing the Comprehension Reading Posters, we suggest laminating this resource or printing on higher GSM card to ensure they’re suitable for daily classroom use.
