Description

This Course: Semester 2 includes Units over: each unit takes 2-3 weeks to cover.

5 Units, 39 Products

  • Populations: Characteristics & Issues
  • Energy & Civilization
  • Non-Renewable energy Sources
  • Renewable energy Sources
  • Biodiversity Issues

The following products include google forms for each lesson, student and teacher notes, vocabulary quiz, unit study guide, and a unit test. Included with the vocabulary quiz and test are links to blooket games for students to play and study.

I usually have the students write the vocabulary list in their notebook, then we spend one day on each lesson. After that we play the vocabulary blooket and take the vocabulary quiz. Finally we complete the study guide, play the test blooket and finish up with the unit test.

Students LOVE blookets and Kahoots, they can log in with their google account and earn blookets as they play games. Blooket has several game modes to choose from so students are constantly kept motivated to do well on the

game.

Each assignment is made with google forms. These google forms completely grade themselves. When you purchase the unit you will get copies of each google form. You will then be able to add, delete, or edit the questions on the form any way you see fit.

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills

SCI.9-11.B.10.A
Science concepts. The student knows that biological systems are composed of multiple levels. The student is expected to: describe the interactions that occur among systems that perform the functions of regulation, nutrient absorption, reproduction, and defense from injury or illness in animals;

SCI.9-11.B.10.B
Science concepts. The student knows that biological systems are composed of multiple levels. The student is expected to: describe the interactions that occur among systems that perform the functions of transport, reproduction, and response in plants; and

SCI.9-11.B.10.C
Science concepts. The student knows that biological systems are composed of multiple levels. The student is expected to: analyze the levels of organization in biological systems and relate the levels to each other and to the whole system.

SCI.9-11.B.11.A
Science concepts. The student knows that biological systems work to achieve and maintain balance. The student is expected to: summarize the role of microorganisms in both maintaining and disrupting the health of both organisms and ecosystems; and

Virginia Standards of Learning

BIO.7.b
The student will investigate and understand that populations change through time. Key ideas include genetic variation, reproductive strategies, and environmental pressures affect the survival of populations;

BIO.7.c
The student will investigate and understand that populations change through time. Key ideas include natural selection is a mechanism that leads to adaptations and may lead to the emergence of new species; and

BIO.7.d
The student will investigate and understand that populations change through time. Key ideas include biological evolution has scientific evidence and explanations.

BIO.8.a
The student will investigate and understand that there are dynamic equilibria within populations, communities, and ecosystems. Key ideas include interactions within and among populations include carrying capacities, limiting factors, and growth curves;

BIO.8.b
The student will investigate and understand that there are dynamic equilibria within populations, communities, and ecosystems. Key ideas include nutrients cycle with energy flow through ecosystems;

BIO.8.c
The student will investigate and understand that there are dynamic equilibria within populations, communities, and ecosystems. Key ideas include ecosystems have succession patterns; and
