Description

This 3-4 day project teaches students how to determine which computer is best for someone to buy. Students learn about computer components, what they do, computer types, etc. and how they impact the decision to buy a computer. Students conduct an interview, and use that information plus the knowledge about computer components to determine which would be the best computer purchase. Students design a presentation showcasing their research and their final computer choice.

This project works well for small group work as well as individual. This project was designed for high school students but can easily be modified for younger or older students.

Resources include a teacher document packet, a student document packet, and a PowerPoint presentation with guidelines for creating a powerful presentation.

My students loved this project. I made it very interactive and it gave them a reality check on how much modern technology really costs. It is always an eye-opener for students. Great resource and very engaging.
