Description
This simple PDF is useful for a typing or computers class when students are learning to touch type with all ten fingers. It shows proper hand placement as well as color codes each finger to show the reach and span of each on the regular keyboard and the extended numeric pad on the keyboard. The picture of the board is a windows-based board, although since the format and layout of the keyboard is basically the same on a mac, it could likely be used there too.
I printed this out and put it on large black construction paper to cover students' hands while typing, this way if they look down they have a reminder but don't technically see the keyboard.

As a private tutor, I was on the lookout for a key to use to color-code my student's keyboard with stickers to help teach her how to touch to type without looking at the keys constantly. I remember back when I was in elementary school, we had color-coded keyboards and they helped me a lot to remember which keys belonged to which fingers. I am so excited to see how this student progresses now with her keyboarding skills with this as an aide. Thank you!!!
This was a good reminder of where they are supposed to put their fingers...and goodness knows they need constant reminding of that. It was an engaging way of reviewing finger position. Thank you!
This is great resource. I am new to teaching technology and this definitely gave me a starting point.
I used this for summer school to help students practice touch typing. I loved how colorful it was.
Thank you!
Great Product!
This is a great resource.
A time saving visual that my students can have with them and in reach when typing to help with automatically knowing where to place hands for typing. Needs little teacher direction to use
