Computer science is one of the fastest growing industries, with over 1 million new jobs being added annually. Expose your students to lucrative careers in computer science using interactive online career exploration activities with this Computer Science Career Exploration Webquest!

In part one students will work to define computer science and explain why computer science is important. In part two students will use digital resources to discover 13 cool computer science careers (3D modeler, mechatronics technician, computer hardware engineer, and more!) and find essential information including salary, summary of career, and required education. For each career, students will also complete a hands-on Try It activity that is directly connected to what people do in computer science careers - describe a robot pet, ideate futuristic nanotechnologies, and much more!

Standards-aligned
This would be a great assignment if you didn't have to pay to access the site to complete the Webquest. There is a paywall on the site which makes 90% of the assignment unusable.

Integrate qualitative scientific and technical information to support the claim that digitized signals are a more reliable way to encode and transmit information than analog signals. Emphasis is on a basic understanding that waves can be used for communication purposes. Examples could include using fiber optic cable to transmit light pulses, radio wave pulses in wifi devices, and conversion of stored binary patterns to make sound or text on a computer screen.
