This bundle has resources that help students create guidelines for discussion that support the development of strong discussion skills for collaboration. These are ideally used at the start of the year so that they can support your students throughout the year ahead.

The Introduction to collaborative discussion in CS -Worksheet or the posters in the Guidelines for collaboration- Wall Crawl can be used to help students decide guidelines for team/whole class discussion that you can refer to all year to support your classes collaboration skills. These resources are inspired by Lyn Dawes and Neil Mercers research into Exploratory Talk and subsequent Thinking Together resources.

The Pair Programming Guide introduces students to the concept of paired programming in which students work in pairs in the roles of Driver and Navigator. This includes description, tips, step, by step instructions and ends with a reflection. The Paired Programming Poster that accompanies this that can be posted on your class walls or online environment to remind students the principles of paired programming.

The Team role cards are designed to be used with activities where you want to leverage the roles of facilitator, scribe, time keeper and reader. These include bullet point information about the roles and could be printed or used digitally.

The Project Pitch with Feedback worksheet can be used to reinforce the use of the Exploratory Talk guidelines that your students decided in the Introduction to collaborative discussion in CS -Worksheet or could used stand alone from this. The idea is to use this when students are pitching their project proposal to to others to give/receive feedback to develop their ideas.
