Description

This geometry quiz provides an assessment on congruence transformations in the coordinate plane. Students will be asked to find the coordinates of a triangle after a translation, reflection, rotation, or glide reflection with or without a graph. They will also be asked to write the transformation that maps one triangle to the next.

A few things to note:

  • rotations are counterclockwise about the origin (90, 180, and 270)
  • glide reflections are written as the composition of isometries (option 1) or in word form (option 2)
  • all questions are short-response

This quiz is intended to be a great print + go option, but also now includes an editable PowerPoint version. The answer key is included!

Download the preview to get a better look at the page structure and see the exact notes and types of problems included!

This quiz is also included in the following bundles:

Represent transformations in the plane using, e.g., transparencies and geometry software; describe transformations as functions that take points in the plane as inputs and give other points as outputs. Compare transformations that preserve distance and angle to those that do not (e.g., translation versus horizontal stretch).
Develop definitions of rotations, reflections, and translations in terms of angles, circles, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, and line segments.
Given a geometric figure and a rotation, reflection, or translation, draw the transformed figure using, e.g., graph paper, tracing paper, or geometry software. Specify a sequence of transformations that will carry a given figure onto another.
