Description
This project is an assessment for a unit on conic sections. Students will choose an image to upload to DESMOS then analyze the picture in order to write the equation of the conic it represents. Students need to make sure their equation is a good fit for their picture. This is a great assessment for an Algebra 2 or PreCalculus course! Grading rubric is included.
PreCalculus Standard:
1.02 Use the quadratic relations (parabola, circle, ellipse, hyperbola) to model and solve problems; justify results.
a.) Solve using tables, graphs, and algebraic properties.
b.) Interpret the constants and coefficients in the context of the problem.
