Description

Welcome to the "Construction Zone!"

Use this Constructing Sentences lesson to teach 5th, 6th, and 7th graders everything they need to know about simple, compound, and complex sentences. In this product, you’ll get 50 slides to present to your students over the course of three to four 60-minute class periods, as well as guided notes to go right along with the presentation!

The lesson starts with a review of subjects and predicates, then moves into clauses, and then teaches how to combine such clauses to make varying sentence patterns. Of course it covers coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, too!

What's Included:
50-slide presentation to teach simple, compound, and complex sentence types with a fun, construction theme! This presentation comes in editable and secured formats through Google Slides, Keynote, PDF, and PowerPoint.

Guided Notes and Practice Sentences for students to follow along right with the lesson and apply what they’re learning.

Guided Notes Key: helpful if you need to leave for a sub or to post on your LMS for absent students!

Disclaimer: This product does NOT feature compound-complex sentences (part of the 7th grade standard L.7.1B)…yet!

My students truly enjoyed this lesson, and their assessment scores showed how much they learned from it!
