Description
“Contact” is a math strategy game in which students create three digit equations, practice basic math facts and properly use the order of operations. The object of the game is to touch as many other players’ squares as possible in order to receive the most points. Two to four players roll three die and create equations with answers that are on the Contact Board. The game can be simplified by allowing the players to use just two to four operations, or it can be made more challenging by requiring the players to correctly use the order of operations. It is a fun and attention-grabbing way for students to review basic math facts and to use critical thinking without doing another “drill and kill” activity.
Complete directions, suggestions, extensions of the game as well as three Contact Boards are included in this handout.
