This Conversation Questions & Comments Boom Cards bundle includes 7 different holidays to target conversation skills throughout the year: Birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Holidays, Valentine's Day/Relationships/Friendships, Spring Break, & Summer Vacation. Each deck provides 20 situations in which the individual has to identify the best question or comment from four options. The situations spark lots of discussion and are great for social skills groups, group, or individual sessions. Perfect for working on pragmatics, problem solving, inferences, and speech carry-over!
To play:
Read the communication situation and four possible responses. Determine the "best" response. Variations on play include: Cover responses and have students give their response before reading and choosing the "best" response. Have students give pros and cons of each response. Discuss why each response is "good" or "bad." Discuss why there may be other better responses based on the people and situation. Skip dating/relationship type questions for students who are too young or feel uncomfortable with this type of discussion.
What are Boom Cards?
