Description
This project is two-fold, in that students are required to solve a literal equation, and then use that literal equation to make repeated calculations in Google Spreadsheet (or Microsoft Excel).
This includes instructions for the project, a rubric, and instructions for suggested technology applications.
**I created this project because my students were not seeing the necessity in being able to solve a literal equation (an equation with multiple variables). When I explained that sometimes you are given different unknowns with a given formula, students believed that they could just substitute in their known values, and then solve. While this is true, it is definitely not the most efficient way to make repeated calculations. So, this project allows students to discover the efficiency of the process.
