Use this double set (64 cards) of fraction Task Cards to help your students practice converting fractions and mixed numbers. There are two sets related cards. The first set (purple) is for converting mixed numbers to improper fractions while the second set (green) is for converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. The cards are color coded for easy organization. There is only one answer key because it is the same for both sets. This means that you mix and match the cards. If you want to focus on just one skill, just use one set of cards. However, if you would like students to use both skills within the same activity, you can intersperse the cards and the answer key will still work. So for example you could:

Switch the odd cards between the sets so that you now have two mixed decks.

Switch the first half of one set with the second half of the other so that students can practice one skill and then the other.

Intersperse only a few cards from the other set in order to reinforce the skill they have already learned with the one they are working on now.

A student answer sheet is included as well as label cards for each set. The cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.
