Description

Help your students learn to convert between polar and rectangular coordinates with this activity. This activity is self-paced, engaging and easy for students to check their work, which frees YOU up to circulate the room and handle more important questions.

Includes:

  • 10 Task Cards
  • Student answer sheet
  • Answer key is embedded into activity

Use all 10, or take out the ones you don't need to use!

Skills included in tasks:

  • Use formula to convert polar to rectangular
  • Use formula to convert rectangular to polar

Some encourage more problem-solving such as:

  • Use trigonometry embedded (e.g, convert (4, pi/3) in polar to rectangular)
  • Use Pythagorean theorem and inverse tan
  • Working with a point on the negative y-axis

What Students and Teachers Love About This Resource:

  • Engaging: Task card tents organically encourage students to collaborate in their learning. They create a low-stress environment that makes it easy to work with peers.
  • Self-Checking: Each task card tent has a hint on the back and an answer key inside so students can check their own work; freeing the teacher up for working with students on more meaningful questions.
  • Versatile: Task cards can be used in so many different ways! Whether it's independent practice or small group work. Task cards allow students to work at their pace.
