Description

These coordinate plane mazes are a fun way to practice graphing! Students plot points at the start, end, and everywhere their line takes a turn through the maze. They then write the coordinate pairs they created in the given box. There are two easy mazes and one more difficult maze.

All mazes are in Quadrant I only.

Print or Digital Easel Activity

This can be printed or used as a digital Easel activity. In the digital activity, students use the highlighter tool to complete each maze so that they can still see through to the grid behind. They then drag pre-inserted dots onto the grid to mark the coordinate pairs where their maze starts, turns and ends. Finally, they type the coordinate pairs they created in their answer box.

Answer keys are included.

Thank you for this. This was a great way to teach and review for my kids. We all enjoyed this and it was easy to modify as needed for low students.

Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.
