Description

Promote student emotional regulation, independence, and the use of coping strategies in the classroom! These break cards are designed with four levels of support in order to reach a variety of learners. Great for students who need extra support with emotion regulation in both general education and special education classrooms.

Directions for use: Select the appropriate level for your students. Print, cut, and laminate to create the cards. The cards can be stored on a binder ring for easy access. After the coping strategies have been explicitly taught, model the use of the break cards by identifying the emotion (the front of the card), and then selecting the break strategy (on the back of the card). Gradually, students will gain independence and can use the cards with minimal adult support. Store in an accessible space to promote use.

My students like this because it goes along nicely with our Zones of Regulation board in our room.
