Pencil Theme Count & Match File Folder Game | Back To School Activities:

This is such a cute back to school themed file folder game for your students. It’s a great way for them to practice one-to-one correspondence by counting how many pencils are on each flashcard strip as well as number recognition practice. There are #2 pages of numerical numbers 1-10 on notebooks as well as #3 pages of flashcard strips with the corresponding number of pencils for each number 1-10.

Objective: To help your students use one-to-one correspondence and count different amounts of items from 1-10. This activity will also help your students identify numbers 1-10.

Prep: This file folder game is simple to download and print. Once printed you will attach the 2 pages with numerical numbers on them to the file folder as well as the front cover page. After that cut out and laminate the number flashcard strips. Once that is done I recommend putting a velcro dot below each number notebook as well as on the top back of the pencil flashcard strips. This will make the matching process easier for both you and your students!

Directions: Once the file folder is put together your students will count how many pencils are on each flashcard strip and then attach it below the corresponding number.
