Description
Do your students need a comprehension check? This short story called "A Tale of Two Coyotes" is a great independent read for second graders and has five comprehension questions.
These questions are based on the common core standards RL.2.1 and RL.2.3. I used this quick check after teaching a few weeks on RL.2.3 and wanted to see how my students were doing on the skill.
Even though it is fiction, I'm from the beautiful state of Arizona so there are some realistic portions from the desert region. This would be great for a desert unit! I hope you enjoy!
