Description

Math Extensions allow students to play an active role in their learning. The activities in this resource can be used to introduce or practice the Georgia Standards of Excellence:

MGSE1.OA.2 Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.

Cray Cray for Word Problems includes three levels. Level 1 provides addition activities within 5. Level 2 provides addition activities within 12. Level 3 provides addition activities within 20. Students can practice each level using the 10 task cards and manipulatives (e.g., number lines and counters). The teacher can administer the corresponding response sheet for a formative assessment.
