Description

Students will love creating their own colony on Mars with other space colonists! First, they create a list of daily activities they do here on Earth before conducting guided research to make sure they have all the necessities on Mars to live and be happy. Research includes:

  • Energy source - students pick a source of energy from a list to research before determining if it is the right energy for their new home
  • Food - Students research foods that could grow on Mars. Make sure you have all your food groups!
  • Structures - Students also decide on the structures that they will need for their colony.

Finally, it's time to sketch! Students will create their colony on paper, displaying all that their new colony on Mars will have. A rubric is included for grading.

My class loved this resource! We have already studied the planets and the coloniew this school year, so this product was a perfect way to tie them all together. The students had such good ideas on how to make thier colonies successful and the conversations we had in the class were incredible! I will absolutely being using this resource in the future!
