Description

Creative Creatures is a great community building activity that teaches the all important lesson of how to collect your ideas together for a group project. It helps students to see that sometimes giving up a part of your idea can lead to an even greater one!

In part 1 of the this task students take their time and do their best work to draw a creature of their own and complete a reflection.

In part 2 students will be in groups to share their drawing. Then they will complete the Creature Challenge because they now have to create a brand new creature by cutting up their drawings and combining parts to form a brand new creature. Then they can complete a reflection about it. Then we recommend cutting out the creatures and laminating them so that they can hang on the wall or become a magnet for the rest of the year to show your classroom community!
