This is a fun and NO PREP activity to add to a little creativity to your informational writing units for your Middle and High School writers. Students are given a variety of fairytale themed headlines, they chose their headline and then write the factual article that they imagine would go with it. It is a great way to address tone and word choice with a creative twist.

This is perfect way for your 8th, 9th, or 10th grade students to practice factual writing in an interesting way. It can also serve as a creative assessment.

It is also a great sub activity if needed!

Included:

  • 1 PDF- one with instructions for your students as well a checklist of what to include in their article
  • 1 PDF of 20 different engaging headlines for your students to choose from
  • 1 PDF that acts as a sample for students to see
